Employers are the backbone of our communities, creating jobs and career opportunities that support the whole region.

Southend Adult Community College has a number of ways to help employers to access and nurture talented individuals from across Southend and Essex, in turn, allowing you to focus on growing your business. We work with over 200 local small and medium employers.

As SACC is a smaller college we are much smaller than other local education providers, and understand the challenges of SME businesses. We have an effective and easy approach that will ensure you find the right candidate with the support you both need to help you through the process of recruiting an apprentice. We also can help you to develop a range of relevant and affordable high quality training programmes to meet the needs of developing skills training for your existing staff.

SACC offers various services to employers and businesses including:

  • Vocational Courses
  • Workplace learning
  • Tailored training programmes for Employers

Work experience

We are always looking for work experience opportunities in the work place for our young adults in vocational training programmes.

This could be a day, a week or half a day/one day a week for a block of time.

Can you help?

Industry visits

Could you invite a small group of our vocational learners for a tour of your workplace?

Provide an insight into the range of roles available, sector entry requirements and employer expectations.

Industry talk

Do you have an hour to spare to talk about the organisation/sector that you work in? How did you get into the role? What are the requirements? What’s good about the job? What’s not so good? Any tips?

Research shows that the more encounters with employers a young adult has the better their chances of securing work when they finish education.

This is more crucial than ever now in the current economic climate.

Industry visits and talks can be virtual if preferable.
