Enrolment FAQs
I need to cancel my course after the start date
If you decide to cancel your course after it has started, we’ll do our best to offer you an alternative option (if available). If not, you can receive a refund of your tuition fees, minus the registration fee, as long as you let us know before your second lesson. The registration fee varies depending on your course.
I haven’t been living in the UK – will this affect my course fees?
If you haven’t been a UK resident, you may need to pay additional course fees. For more information, please contact a Learner Services Assistant on 01702 445700 or email sacc@southend-adult.ac.uk.”
What happens if the course I want is already full?
If the course is full when we receive your enrolment form (and you haven’t chosen an alternative), we’ll let you know and add your name to the waiting list. If the course is very popular, we’ll do our best to arrange another class. If no alternative is available, you can choose another course or request a refund of your tuition fees (minus the registration fee), as long as you let us know before your second lesson. The registration fee depends on the course cost.
The course I am interested in is not very popular?
We always keep enrolment open as late as possible, but unfortunately, courses cannot run if too few people enrol.
If the activity you have selected is cancelled, we will try to find you an acceptable alternative. If this is not possible, a full refund of all fees will be made.
You will be contacted by text and email wherever possible or by post if no email address/mobile number has been provided.
I haven’t studied for a long time – will I get support?
Yes, we can support you with any English, maths, or basic ICT skills you may need during your course. This support might be provided by your course tutor or a Learning Support Assistant. If you’d like to find out more, or check if this is right for you, please speak to your tutor or a Learner Services Assistant.
Can I park my car when I come to classes?
There is limited parking available at both our Southchurch and Belfairs centres. Please note that parking is at your own risk
I have a disability and can’t manage stairs – can I still join a course?
Yes. All our courses are accessible to wheelchair users and those with mobility difficulties (unless stated otherwise due to the nature of the activity). Both our Southchurch and Belfairs centres have lifts to support access.
If you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us, you can contact our Learner Services Team via the Online Chat facility on our website, call 01702 445700 or email sacc@southend-adult.ac.uk
