Facilities
Southend Adult Community College has four key centres: ILSA Westcliff and ILSA Southchurch for learners with complex learning difficulties and disabilities, the Digital Academy at Belfairs in Leigh-on-Sea for digital and creative courses, and our main Southchurch Centre, just 100 yards from Southend East station. All centres have step-free access and lifts, with every effort made to ensure our facilities are fully accessible to all members of the community.
Travel
Our sites are all well-connected by public transport. The Southchurch Centre is just 100 yards from Southend East C2C station. Full-time students (16+) and apprentices can get up to one-third off weekly, monthly, or annual season tickets via the c2c Smart Student scheme. Other local transport providers may also offer discounts, so check with your operator for more deals.
For drivers, limited free car parking is available at both Southchurch and Belfairs centres (users park at their own risk). There’s also bike parking available on-site. All our centres have been designed with accessibility in mind—there’s step-free access and lifts at Southchurch, Belfairs, and Westcliff.

Located at our Southchurch Centre, our on-site café is a welcoming space open to the public. Whether you’re after a coffee break, a light lunch, or a catch-up with friends, enjoy freshly prepared sandwiches, soups, salads, and hot meals – all at great value compared to high street prices. Drop in and discover quality food in a relaxed, friendly setting.
Art and Design Studios
Southend Adult Community College has several specialist Art and Design Studios with materials and tools available to students, including a traditional Print Press, a well-equipped Ceramics Studio and exhibition space showcasing student work on display.
Hire Spaces
Southend Adult Community College has several specialist spaces available to hire designed to provide the best environment to meet the needs of their students and the local community.
We can cater for small and large groups and have 3 main spaces, including our Main Hall, various Classroom Spaces and The BEST Centre.
