A Study Programme is a full time programme of learning designed to develop a rounded set of skills to prepare young adults for further education, an Apprenticeship or employment. Attendance is a minimum of 3 days per week and aims to develop vital skills around communication, attitude, and employability as well as a chosen vocational qualification. A placement with a local employer to acquire real experience of the workplace is arranged to develop employability.

Southend Adult Community College offers a Study Programme for 16 – 19 year olds who need to achieve qualifications in order to progress on to Level 2 vocational qualifications and employment. These courses are ideal for learners who do not wish to attend a large FE College for a variety of reasons but still have the desire and ability to work hard to learn new skills. You will learn and develop the skills and vocational knowledge to give you the confidence to effectively manage your life at home, at work and in the local community.

Core Subjects
Vocational courses all include core subjects: English, Maths and ICT. These are essential for success in today’s current job market. Whatever level you are at, we can help you develop your skills and confidence in these subjects.
Courses will be delivered through a combination of
in-person and online learning at home. You will receive support to enable you to use the online platforms.
Work Experience
During the course, you will have the opportunity to gain experience of the workplace and develop your work skills.
