A career in Health and Social Care is very rewarding; you have the potential to make a massive difference to someone’s life. It’s all about helping people. Adult care workers provide a whole range of services to support vulnerable adults and older people so that they can benefit from a much more improved way of life. Different career paths are available for people from all different kinds of academic backgrounds.
Introduction to Health & Social Care Level 1
This qualification is intended to provide learners with a broad introduction to the health and social care sector, equipping learners with underpinning knowledge and skills specific to the sector alongside a range of transferable employability skills. It is designed to support progression to further learning and ultimately to work in health and social care or other related sectors.
Adult Care Level 2
The Level 2 Diploma in Adult Care is an occupational qualification for learners who work in Health and Care Settings. With this qualification, you will learn the core knowledge and skills which underpin all roles in the Care sector. You are also able to select optional units which reflect your working environment and interests. To enrol on this course you will need to be working or volunteering in a care setting for at least 6 hours a week. You will need to hold level 1 Functional Skills English (GCSE D-E, 2-4) before starting the course.
Adult Care Level 3
Level 2 Certificate in Mental Health Awareness
The Online Level 2 Certificate is suitable for learners who want to raise their awareness of mental health and a range of mental health conditions. It is delivered over 24 weeks and is a knowledge only qualification with no work placement or employment requirements. You will need to hold level 1 Functional Skills English (GCSE D-E, 2-4) before starting the course.
