Skills for Work courses have been developed to improve your knowledge and skills in preparation for progression onto further study, training or directly into employment. Gaining first-hand experience working with industry sector expert tutors in a relaxed learning environment will further develop your confidence and support your career progression.

Work Experience

During your course you will have the opportunity to take part in work experience and will allow you to develop transferable work-related skills and gain an insight into the career of your choice. Gaining an understanding of the world of work prepares you for your next steps after college. Your work experience will vary from course to course and your placement forms part of your core provision for at least one week during the academic year. Work experience can also take place on study days, during college holidays or as part of your course timetable.

Pre Course Assessments

To attend some courses you will need to attend a Pre-Course Assessment session (PCA). It is a chance to talk about what you want to achieve and any support you may need. You will be offered the best class for you. This will help us to ensure you enrol on the right level course and provide appropriate support to help you achieve.
