We were delighted when Southend Borough Council informed us they would be visiting with The High Sheriff of Essex. Although his visit was brief he was able to meet our young adults on The Challenges 2012 provision in partnership with Leaving Aftercare 16+. The High Sheriff was accompanied by Sue Cook, Interim Corporate Director Children and Learning.

Stephen Lay, Principal said “The visit presented a great opportunity for the High Sheriff and Sue Cook to meet a group of young people attending this important course. The High Sheriff spent some time talking with the young people and hearing first-hand what they have been studying and how the programme is helping them prepare for employment and living independently in the community. The College is proud of the group’s achievements and delighted that two such high profile visitors took the time to meet students. Feedback from the students indicated how they appreciated that people in such influential positions seemed genuinely interested in their experiences.”
