An accounting apprenticeship could be the right route for you. AAT Apprenticeships are formal, nationally recognised training programmes for ambitious individuals. Apprentices have the opportunity to achieve a qualification while developing hands-on skills and experience in the workplace. Financial management is at the heart of every business, so demand for these skills is consistently high across all sectors.

Changes to Apprenticeships

Accountancy apprenticeships are now part of the Apprenticeship Standards. This means that you will not only gain the AAT qualifications but if you successfully complete the apprenticeship you will receive an Apprenticeship certificate which will be graded at a pass, merit or distinction depending on the result of your end point assessment.

The end point assessment consists of a 3 hour exam, a portfolio of evidence based on the standards and a reflective discussion.

Advanced AAT Accountancy Apprenticeship

You are required to have GCSE grade A*-C in English and maths before starting your apprenticeship.

There are two routes for the advanced apprenticeship.

You already have achieved AAT level 2 Certificate in Accounting:

The programme will take 18 months. You will achieve AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting.

You do not have AAT level 2 Certificate in Accounting;

The programme will take 24 months.  You will complete the AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting at the start of your apprenticeship then move onto gain your AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting.
